[Loki's jaw tightens as he clenches his teeth. His gut instinct is to stay put, holed up in his cabin. The last port was miserable for him, and he's stewing in his own annoyance at his awkward, painful conversation with Misty not actually amounting to graduation the way he had hoped it might. He's grown increasingly wary of the barge and the Admiral and responding to a crisis he suspects is completely manufactured feels foolish at best.
...But that might be exactly the sort of thing he needs to do to graduate. Capitulate to the Admiral's whims. Go with the crowd. Work on a team. All things Loki has always struggled to do, which might be a "lesson" of sorts in and of itself.
[Loki gives one of his patented Eerie Unblinking Alien Stares as he calculates the cost-benefit analysis of explaining his familiarity with Taylor and how she may not want him around versus the possibility that this outing might be useful for graduation.
I violently killed her in the forest before you shook me out of it. I tried to bury her explicit memories of it, but she's still aware it happened. And my first attempt to mask her memories didn't fully take.
Oh, fuck. Yeah, I mean. I've driven away too many people to count. I might not be the best guy to help you out, unless you want to learn what NOT to do.
I suppose I'll just have to absorb the discomfort and misfortune of it all while I go out on my own and try to remember it for next time. Is there anything in particular I should try to acquire, you think?

[He actually doesn't know if Betelgeuse has one. He does, but he doubts that's something his warden would think to plan ahead for.]

We're doing a port run and you're coming with.

He sighs.]
Fine. What did you have in mind?

Skitter Skat and me are gonna go raid for bugs. Figured it'd be gross and disgusting and fun as shit.

What?

And then he blinks.]
Yes. We've met.

Spill!

[He clenches his jaw again.]
You may want to confirm she wants me around.
no subject
You good?

[He shakes his head, refocuses.]
I can go and try to gather supplies. But I think it might be best if you assist Taylor without me.

Maybe there's a lesson in it for me. A solo mission because I've driven someone away with my actions. Or something.

Whoa. Got kinda serious there for a minute.

Thank you, Warden. Your perspective is, as ever, refreshing.

I hope you'll try to stay out of trouble, but if you can't help yourself, I can summon you if need be. Just say the word.
[Who's the warden here, again?]
