The Counter Force. Not a god or any sort of being you could ascribe a personality or identity to.

It is most accurate to characterize it as an intangible force of will -- an automatic defense mechanism which assesses threats to the continued existence of the world and all mankind.

Eliminating half of all life is not balance. That is a sloppy, half-baked assumption if there ever was one.

The Counter Force is hardly my favorite entity, but what it does isn’t the same as that.

Vengeance isn’t always the motivating factor for destructive behavior.

I knew a man who believed humanity had become too populous, and his solution was to cull the herd, so to speak.

It had nothing whatsoever to do with revenge; only an astonishing amount of hubris.
